NPFL: Bayelsa United, Doma United put on a show in Group B

Doma United are enjoying a wonderful NPFL debut season.
Two promoted sides Bayelsa United and Doma United were the biggest winners in the NPFL on Sunday while Enugu Rangers dropped more points.

12 goals were scored in four matches in Group B of the abridged NPFL season, an average of three goals per game.

Newly promoted clubs Bayelsa United and Doma United accounted for five of the goals on Sunday.

Both clubs were in their best forms following a comprehensive performance against Lobi Stars and Wikki Tourist.

Bayelsa thrashed Lobi 3-0, with Doma taking a 2-0 win over Wikki while Enugu Rangers let a two-goal lead slip away from their hands at home.

Bayelsa humiliate Lobi Stars

A one-sided affair in the state capital Yenagoe saw the Restoration Boys brush the Group B leaders to avenge their defeat earlier in the season.

Back in January, the Pride of Benue thrashed Bayelsa 3-0 in Jos and United never forgot that result.

A blistering first half display saw Bayelsa dent Lobi Stars record, with Stephen Wisdom the star of the show for United.

Wisdom scored a brace in the game with Jerry Alex getting the other goal for the Bayelsa.

Robert Mizo was caged this time for Bayelsa United.

Doma gatecrash top two

The newly promoted side has been the surprise team of the season so far in Group B.

Doma moved up to second in the group with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wikki Tourist in Gombe.

Musa Usman was the star and hero of the day following his brace.

Doma United are now up to second on the log.

He scored a goal in either half to inspire the NPFL newbies to a quick return to winning ways which also sees them move high up the table.

Rangers slip again

The Flying Antelopes missed the chance to go six a clear of the danger zone after a 2-2 draw at home to Niger Tornadoes.

Rangers of Enugu are really struggling in the NPFL.

Enough Rangers looked comfortable and coasting home after Reuben Bala and Kenneth Igboke gave them a 2-0 lead at the break.

But in the second half, the Antelopes capitulated as Tornadoes came from two goals down to snatch a share of the spoils.

Munir Idris was the hero of the Niger side following his two goals in less than ten second half minutes, leading Niger to a 2-2 draw.
