NPFL Super 6: Enyimba edge Lobi Stars, Bendel Insurance drop points again

Nigeria’s most successful club side Enyimba International are off the mark at the NPFL Super 6.

Enyimba registered their first win of the playoffs following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Benue side Lobi Stars.

NPFL top scorer Chukwuemeka Obioma was the hero of the day for the People’s Elephant as he netted the only goal of the game.

Obioma’s goal proved to be the difference with Enyimba now back in the title race with their first win.

Insurance have extended their unbeaten run in the NPFL after another share of the spoils in the Super 6.

The Benin Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by a stubborn and gallant Sunshine Stars in the final game of matchday 2.

Divine Nwachukwu gave Insurance a deserved lead as early as in the seventh minute but failed to hold on to the lead as the Stars came back strongly.

Udom Edem Ekerette turned out the hero for twh Owena Whales after he reacted quickest to poke home from a goal-mouth scramble in the second half.
