When asked about the Nigerian players he enjoys watching, he highlighted English Premier League star Cole Palmer, along with national teammates Ademola Lookman and Alex Iwobi.

“Cole Palmer, Ademola is up there, I can’t lie,” Aina said. “I have to put my boy, Iwobi, he’s having a sick season.”

While Osimhen has been on fire for Galatasaray this season, scoring an impressive 31 goals in 36 matches on loan from Napoli, Aina’s focus was on Lookman and Iwobi, who have also been delivering stellar performances.

Iwobi has had a historic campaign for Fulham, contributing nine goals and six assists, the best output of his career.

Victor Osimhen has scored 31 goals in 36 goals.

Lookman, meanwhile, has been prolific for Atalanta with 18 goals and six assists in 37 appearances.

Aina’s admiration shows the dynamic attacking talents currently shining for Nigeria beyond Osimhen’s headline-grabbing exploits.

The Nottingham Forest defender, who has been a key figure for the Super Eagles since his debut in 2017, also revealed his dream additions to the national team would be England’s Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka, praising Rashford’s direct and dynamic style as a perfect fit for Nigeria’s play.

Currently sidelined with a calf injury, Aina aims to return to action in time for the upcoming Unity Cup in May, hoping to continue contributing to Nigeria’s ambitions on the international stage.
