Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: Ex-Manchester United boss gets new job
Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has returned to football close to two years after his sack.
Solskjaer disclosed this during an interview with the Athletic just weeks after he revealed he had rejected offers.
The 50-year-old has been out of a job following his dismissal by the Red Devils after a poor run of form in 2021.
Solskjaer returns
According to a report by the Athletic, the 1999 UEFA Champions League hero has now confirmed his return to football.
Ole has taken up a role with the European football governing body, UEFA, as a technical match observer, a role that will see him attend matches in the Champions League.
“I am doing a lot of coaching, four times per week and we have three teams,” Ole said.
“I’m helping the kids, who enjoy it. You see a different side to football, the grassroots - except it’s all plastic pitches here.”
Speaking further on his new adventure, Ole added that he misses coaching in the big leagues but is enjoying himself.
“But you start to miss it,” he added. “Since I left United, i have travelled around as a fan with my kids to places like Napoli, Milan and Dortmund.
“My role with UEFA means watching Champions League matches in person. I can watch teams from a different perspective than being a manager, analyse them, solve problems, see how both teams will try to hurt each other.”
