Onduparaka youngster stars as Jinja Progressive smack Nkoma to comma

Jinja Progressive Academy has proved they were not just lucky to qualify after walloping Nkoma SS 8-1 in the final Group G game of the 2023 USSSA National Secondary Schools Championships on Tuesday.

The Jinja City and Busoga Regional champions had sealed their qualification with a game to spare but proved their strength by thumping Nkoma who have qualified as second in the pool.

Onduparaka youngster James Jarieko put aside his club’s woes to lead with a brace for the Jinja side.

Bakali Mugoya Bakali added a brace as each of Shafiq Kwikiriza Swabil, Swaib Mpasa Isma Kagere and Lukeman Lwanga netted one apiece.

JiPRA qualifies with 19 points and an overall goal haul of 24, while Nkoma settles for the second slot with 14.
