Onome Ebi Celebrates Attending FIFA Club World Cup

Nigerian football icon Onome Ebi is making headlines for her presence at the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

Known as the first African footballer—male or female—to participate in six FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament, Ebi was in attendance at this expanded men’s club competition.

Ebi took to social media to show off her outfit in a yellow blazer, soaking in the atmosphere of a packed stadium.

She was at the game where PSG destroyed Atletico Madrid 4-0, a thrilling Group B clash.

Ebi now plays for Abia Angels in Nigeria after a distinguished international career that spanned Sweden, Turkey, and beyond.

This tournament, the first in its expanded 32-team format, is a proving ground for FIFA’s vision, featuring new all-grass pitches and serving as a logistical dress rehearsal for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ebi was a guest of the world football governing body to the tournament.

Ebi has hinted to lead Nigeria toward their 14th consecutive tournament appearance in Morocco for the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
