Oshoala: Agba baller replacement scores four to take throne as new queen at Barcelona
If there were any doubts about Barcelona Femeni coping without Asisat Oshoala, Salma Paralluelo emphatically erased them by single-handedly dismantling Real Sociedad with a four-goal masterclass.
The 19-year-old Spanish sensation inherited Oshoala's spot in the team and is already making it hers with a scintillating start as Liga-F resumed.
Barca replace Oshoala
Paralluelo's quadruple took her tally to a mind-boggling 13 goals in just 13 games in 2022/23 as Barca romped to yet another Liga F victory.
While Oshoala was a legendary figure at the club, having fired them to multiple titles during her five-year stint, this new heir to the throne is threatening to become an upgrade on her predecessor.
Nigeria’s legendary forward, Oshoala, fondly called ‘Agba Baller’, has since moved on to greener pastures after she joined Bay FC in the NWSL in the US.
Following her departure, the teenage phenom that is Salma is already on course to have more league goals than the Nigerian managed in any of her Barcelona campaigns. And she's achieved it by mid-March.
With her blistering pace, instincts and ice-cool finishing, Paralluelo is quickly emerging as the latest superstar of the Barcelona Femeni production line.
If she maintains this outrageous scoring rate, it will take a brave pundit to go against her obliterating Oshoala's single-season Barcelona record of 20 league goals before the season is out.

Of course, it's still early days, but the signs are ominous for every other side in Spain that the new queen has well and truly taken her throne at the summit of women's football.
As the number 7 shirt begins her reign, Barcelona's life after the iconic Oshoala looks incredibly bright.
