France started strong and took the lead in the 11th minute when Álex Baena's clearance, pressured by Alexandre Lacazette, was intercepted by Enzo Millot, who cleverly beat Arnau Tenas to score the opening goal.
However, Baena quickly made amends for his mistake, delivering a precise pass that Fermín López expertly redirected past Guillaume Restes' grasp, leveling the score and notching his fifth goal of the tournament.
Fermín continued his goal-scoring streak, netting his sixth of the tournament. Alex Baena then scored a stunning free-kick to put Spain up 3-1.
France pushed hard for a comeback, but Spain's defense held strong until Michael Olise's lucky free-kick found the back of the net in the 79th minute.
Jean-Philippe Mateta equalized with a penalty in stoppage time, sending the game to extra time.
Sergio Camello emerged as the hero, scoring two goals in extra time to secure Spain's gold medal. His first was a beautiful chip over the goalkeeper, and his second was a near-identical finish that sealed the win for Spain.
