Paris 2024: Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade expains how Nigeria can beat Brazil and Spain
Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade has talked up the Nigerian women's national team's chances of beating Brazil in their opening game of the Olympics.
The Nigerian women's team are drawn into Group D of the competition and are set to face the Brazil women's team, along with Spain and Japan. They begin the arduous task of qualifying from such a difficult group as the least ranked team against Brazil on Thursday, July 25th, and star forward Ajibade believes the girls have what it takes.
What Ajibade said
Speaking to 54footballx ahead of the game, Ajibade explained that Nigerian players play in top leagues across the globe and are well-versed in the qualities and styles of the teams they will face.
She believes they can leverage their insight into players from the teams they are set to face.
“Playing in professional leagues, we encounter many players from different countries, including Brazil,” Ajibade said.
“I can provide the team with insights on how specific players operate, especially those I have played with or against in Spain and Brazil. We can pool our knowledge to help the team succeed in the Olympics.”
