Pochettino offers Chelsea star Mendy plus cash for another African goalkeeper

Andre Onana has become Mauricio Pochettino’s summer target in terms of solving goalkeeping problems at Chelsea, ESPN.

The Argentine is willing to offer Inter Milan’s Edouard Mendy who has been out of favour and cash to land the Cameroonian at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Italian news media outlet Foot Mercato, Pochettino is a huge admirer of Onana who has helped Inter reach the Champions League final since joining the club.

And the former Tottenham boss would like to create competition for Spanish shot-stopper Kepa Arrizzabalaga in between the sticks.

Mendy, who was once the best goalkeeper in Europe, lost his number one spot to Kepa following strings of errors that cost Chelsea in games.

The Senegalese international helped the Blues win the 2021 Champions League and the 2022 AFCON for his native land.

There has been several offers from top European clubs for the 31-year-old who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
