Reactions as Man City see off Fulham to leapfrog Arsenal in Premier League title race
Manchester City sealed a 2-1 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon, April 30, 2023, in the Premier League.
The defending champions continued from where they left off in mid-week with Erling Haaland blasting home a penalty in the 3rd minute to give the visitors a dream start.
However, 12 minutes later, the hosts roared back into the contest as Carlos Vinicius fired home for Fulham to level matters and send the Craven Cottage fans into jubilation mood.
City as expected, responded by creating tons of chances and soon found the back of the net to take the lead once more as Julian Alvarez unleashed a spectacular strike in the 36th minute to put Guardiola's men in front once more.
Alvarez's strike proved to be the difference between both sides at full-time as the second half failed to produce any goals with Bernd Leno putting up an impressive shift for the hosts to prevent any embarrassment on Sunday afternoon.

Pep has to find a way to fit Alvarez in the first XI. He’s way too good to be sitting on the bench pic.twitter.com/5InJAHrwVB

Julian Alvarez can't fully utilise his skills and potential for Man City and it is because of a certain robot with the name Erling Haaland.

He's so good to be a bench player for any team currently. pic.twitter.com/AtFmW3SWE0
If you ever feel stupid remember Julian Alvarez, a bench warmer at Man City has more goals (8) than Chelsea’s top scorer (7) this season 😂

He knows how to create space/chances for himself, like a certain Luis Suarez pic.twitter.com/L8BXJu7Mxf
After so many failed attempts Alvarez finally got his banger, what a goal. Aguero material pic.twitter.com/POtmNm9Rls
