Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad: Who needs Benzema? Joselu completes comeback as Los Blancos go top of LALIGA

Real Madrid overcame a scare against Real Sociedad, beating them to maintain their perfect record and restore their place as league leaders.

With Barcelona having deposed them yesterday, Los Blancos needed maximum points to return to the top of the log. Buoyed by the demanding Santiago Bernabeu crowd, Los Merengues completed a comeback against Imanol Algiacil's side.

As has been the trend with their victories this season, Carlo Ancelotti's side had to sweat for it.

They conceded as early as the fifth minute of the game when Ander Barranetxea fired past Kepa Arrizabalaga. 

Real Sociedad thought they made it two with a Takefusa Kubo strike, but the goal was ruled out. 

La Reale went into the break ahead, but their half-time team talk was immediately dazed upon resumption, with Federico Valverde equalising inside the first minute of the second-half. 

Joselu won the game for Real Madrid on the hour mark, rising highest in the box to head in a Fran Garcia cross.
