But Ogunmodede's men responded in the perfect way, digging deep to edge out Enyimba 1-0 just days later to reignite their championship charge.

Super-sub Adams Olamilekan was the hero after he came off the bench to score the decisive winner 19 minutes from time.

As the full-time whistle went in that gritty victory, cameras captured an amusing but touching scene on the sidelines.

Clearly elated at his side's character-building win, an emotionally drained Ogunmodede was surprised by his wife, who planted a massive kiss on his lips.

The footage showed the Remo manager's eyes light up as his other half arrived to congratulate him, pulling him in for a loving smooch in a video posted on social media by NPFL Tori Podcast.

It's that kind of support that can make all the difference in the pressure-cooker environment of Nigerian football's top flight.

Remo's revival has them firmly back in the NPFL title picture - and you can bet Ogunmodede will be getting more celebratory smackers if they can keep this run going.
