Reports: Travis Mutyaba jets to Egypt ahead of move to Zamalek
Uganda Cranes attacking prodigy Travis Mutyaba has reportedly touched base in Egypt ahead of his pending move to Egyptian and African African football kingpins Zamalek SC.
According to journalist Sinan Rajub, Mutyaba arrived in Egypt on Tuesday to finalize the nitty-gritties of the deal.
Earlier on Tuesday, Egyptian transfer reporter Rami Youseff posted on X: "Ugandan striker Travis Mutyaba signs four and a half years. He will be registered under the local and African age."
It should be noted that last year, FUFA indicated that Mutyaba was a Dinamo Tbilisi player, despite the club never announcing his arrival.
He has been out of competitive club football since the conclusion of the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League League season in June at SC Villa.
Besides Villa, Mutyaba has previously featured for the Vipers Junior Team, Synergy in the Futsal competition, Bulemeezi in the Buganda Masaza Cup, as well as Gombe High School.
He has been through various national team ranks, playing at the U17, U20 and for the senior team the Uganda Cranes.
