Rescue Mission! Super Eagles hopeful Gift Orban vows to help Hoffenheim avoid relegation
Nigerian striker Gift Orban is determined to help his club Hoffenheim avoid relegation from the Bundesliga this season.
The 22-year-old Nigerian forward joined Hoffenheim from Olympique Lyon in January and has made a promising start, scoring four goals in 12 appearances.
Orban's desire to contribute to the team's success is clear. "Hoffenheim is a good club, but in a difficult situation," he said in an interview with the club's official website.
"Many clubs contacted me in the winter, but here the management treated me with respect and convinced me."
Hoffenheim are currently 14th in the table with 27 points from 28 games, and the Nigerian is focused on scoring more goals to help the team stay afloat.
"I now want to score even more goals and work hard to ensure that we stay in the league," he concluded.
Orban will also have one eye on making Eric Chelle's next Super Eagles squad in June, and only a good run of form between now and the end of the season can put him in contention.
Hoffenheim host Mainz this weekend, looking for their first win in 5 games.
