Ronaldinho’s 18-year-old son shows amazing skills in debut for Barcelona
Following a successful first trial, João Mendes signed his first professional deal with the team at the beginning of March. On Wednesday afternoon, the U19 academy team of Barcelona gave the 18-year-old his first appearance in the Mediterranean International Cup.
As Mendes was introduced during the game, Barcelona supporters watched to see if he would live up to his father's famous status.
Ronaldinho’s son becoming a super talent
During his tenure at Barcelona, Ronaldinho cemented his place in club history by winning a Ballon d'Or, two LaLiga championships, the Champions League, two Spanish Super Cups, and several more trophies.
The apple, they say, does not fall far from the tree as the youngster does seem to share some of his father's talent, with a video showing some movements in which he attempted to replicate some of his father's skills.
Mendes skill unmatched
Mendes' attempt to outsmart the opposing full-back with some maneuvers was applauded by the fans. He demonstrated some of his father's movements, despite the fact that he still has a lot to learn.
The young Brazilian received a lot of encouragement as he tried to impress the spectators. However, his lack of experience was a significant problem for him. But as things stand, one shouldn't judge him by his debut performance. He will gradually get used to the level of the top academy, and it will be up to him to advance from there.
