Al-Nassr played host to a decent Al-Taawoun side in an effort to retake first place in the Saudi Professional League. The 2-1 victory helped them replace Al Ittihad at the top of the league, thanks to a brilliant performance from star man Ronaldo, who set his teammates up to score twice.

Ronaldo and his teammates would have the final edit access to the scoreline when the five-time Balon d'Or winner found centre-back Abdullah Madu who finished in the 79th minute and helped his team pick up the maxiumum three points.

The game started a cagey affair before bursting to life around the 10th-minute mark. The host started to dominate proceedings and were rewarded with a goal in the 17th minute when Ronaldo found 25-year-old Abdulrahman Ghareeb who finished brilliantly past Mailson in goal for Al-Taawoun.

The tie became end-to-end from their point with both teams exchanging blows, but the Faris Najd took their lead into half-time. The visitors started the second half with purpose, equalising almost immediately after the resumption of proceedings from an Alvaro Medran strike in the 47th minute of the game.

Ronaldo settled at Al-Nassr

Ronaldo's first two official games for Al-Nassr saw him fail to score, and they included a 3-1 cup defeat to Al-Ittifaq that saw Faris Najd knocked out.

The Portuguese star has since turned that around, and he has scored five goals in his last three games, including a poker last time out against Al-Wehda.  With two assists to day, Ronaldo could be on course to reach unprecedented numbers for the Saudi club.
