Rubiales resigns: Like Ronaldo RFEF president goes on Piers Morgan to make big reveal
Luis Rubiales has finally caved under immense pressure and announced today that he will be resigning from his role as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
What has happened
Over the course of the past three weeks, Rubiales has been pressured to resign after he kissed Jennifer Hermoso on the lips at the World Cup medal ceremony.
The incident sparked an outrage in Spain, and protests ensued to that effect. Rubiales in an extraordinary general assembly, however, refused to resign.
He was then provisionally suspended by FIFA who opened an investigation into the incident. The Spanish FA appointed general secretary Pedro Rocha as acting president, and the federation turned their backs on Rubiales, with the regional heads of the federation urging him to resign.

The 46-year-old administrator opted to have a sit down with television personality Piers Morgan, where he discussed the incident.
This is not Piers's first big controversial interview, as Cristiano Ronaldo also went on his show Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss his troubles and Manchester United, forcing a move at the end.
@TalkTV released a clip that seemed from a longer interview that showed Rubiales telling Morgan he will be resigning, and that the decision comes after he spoke with his family and friends who he claims have been supporting him.
