The Matchday 6 encounter in Group C result was not beneficial to either team in their hopes of clinching a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Rwanda came into the game aiming to bounce back after a disappointing 0-2 loss against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Lesotho on the other hand had a second away game after a 0-2 loss against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

There were no goals scored in the first half as both sides defended well.

Rwanda would take the lead in the 56th minute through Jojea Kwizera to give the home side the advantage.

However the crocodiles of Lesotho, known for their resilience, fought back and managed to equalize in the 82nd minute through midfielder Lehlohonolo Fothoane.

The result is a blow to Rwanda's hopes of climbing the group table, especially as the Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

For Lesotho, the draw is a hard-fought result on the road, keeping them in contention despite their lower ranking in the group.
