Sadio Mane issues three-word response to potential Newcastle move

Barely one year after leaving Liverpool to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, Mane is being linked with a return to the Premier League.

He struggled to show any kind of form or consistency for Bayern, scoring only once in his final 15 games and compounding his torrid spell by punching teammate Leroy Sane.

British politician and lifelong Newcastle supporter Martin Callanan met with Mane at a conference and took the opportunity to ask the Senegalese forward to come to Newcastle. Mane's response was "Never say never."

Newcastle have qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years and manager Eddie Howe has spoken of a need to add top-level players to improve the team. AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali is close to joining and many more are expected to follow.
