Sadio Mane's wife receives hero's welcome as she returns to school after highly-publicised wedding [VIDEO]

Sadio Mane’s wife received a hero’s welcome when she went back to her school days after getting married to the Senegal superstar.

Aisha Tamba, who stole the heart of the Al-Nassr forward, was taken aback by how she was received upon her return to the school after her new-found status and fame.

Senegalese outlet Senenews showed a clip of Aisha being cheered by her peers and teachers when she went back to school in Mbao where she is studying for her baccalaureate.

A baccalaureate is an academic qualification that students in Senegal obtain at the end of their secondary education.

Hundreds of people can be seen gathered at the school grounds singing songs for Aisha and Mane with chants of “Sadio amenda jabar - Aissaa amena jekeur [Madame Sadio Mane]” loud.

Aisha is seen smiling before waving to the crowd, showing how popular Mane is in the country and her new status.

Little was known about Aisha before her marriage to Mane in an Islamic ceremony on January 7 in Keur Massar, in Dakar, just six days before the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on January 13.

A lot has since been revealed about the 18-year-old whose father came out to clear the air about how she met the former Liverpool forward.

“My wife and Aisha visited their (Mane's) family one day, and this is where he met her for the first time,” Amadou said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“He probably saw something special in her and his parents appreciated her as well. They came to see me. We discussed as per the tradition, agreed on everything, and waited for this day to happen. They were not dating because Aisha was still young.”

Reports have also claimed that the marriage was arranged long ago and that Mane was funding her education.
