Salah highlights importance to Liverpool by equalling his own Premier League record against Aston Villa
Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah showed again why the club was unwilling to accept bids as high as £150 million from Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad to sell him, after equalling a Premier League record that he previously set.
Salah superb against Aston Villa
Salah was in superb form as he scored his second goal of the season to help Liverpool to a comfortable 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
The Egyptian’s goal extended the number of consecutive games he has played in the Premier League with at least one goal contribution to 10 matches.

With 10 consecutive matches with at least one goal or assist, Salah became the first player since, well, Mo Salah, to record a goal involvement in this many matches in a row in the Premier League.
Salah still crucial for Liverpool
Salah also went 15 matches with a goal contribution per game during a sensational run that ended in December 2021.
The two-time PFA Player of the Year has been the subject of an intense transfer chase as Al-Ittihad look to take advantage of their six-day transfer window extension to pursue the Egyptian’s signature.
Liverpool have made it clear that they do not intend to sell Salah this summer and after his performance against Aston Villa, they will be even more inclined to keep the Egyptian regardless of how much the Saudi Arabian side tempts them with.
