The Houston Rockets advanced to the NBA Cup semifinals by defeating Golden State 91-90, their first victory against the Warriors since 2020.

Alperen Sengun led the Rockets with 26 points and 11 rebounds, while teammate Jalen Green finished with 12 points, including the game-winning free throws with 3.5 seconds left, to stop Houston's 15-game losing streak against the Warriors, which dates back to February 2020.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will play the Rockets in the NBA Cup final four on Saturday in Las Vegas.

On their route to a 44-37 halftime lead, the Rockets forced Stephen Curry and the Warriors into 14 first-half errors.

However, the Warriors adapted, and with Draymond Green leading a formidable defense.

It seemed the Warriors had taken charge when Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga made consecutive three-pointers with 3:38 remaining to increase the team's advantage to 89-82.

With 1:16 remaining, Golden State had a 90-84 lead when Fred VanVleet of Houston made a three-pointer to start a 7-0 scoring run and win the game.

Curry scored 19 points but missed a three-pointer with 11.1 seconds remaining, while Kuminga led the Warriors with 20 points.
