Tore Bobe were beaten 2-1 by Posta Rangers at Gusii Stadium with goals from Brian Marita and Trevor Omondi securing the win for the mailmen while Victor Omondi pulled one back for the home side.

Shabana could not, however, convert some of their chances, including a missed penalty, as Rangers took full command of the Premier League table with the vital three points on enemy territory.

However, the club wiped off their tears with a gate collection of nearly Ksh1 million after fans thronged the match venue despite it being a midweek fixture which traditionally attracts low turnout.

How Much Did Shabana Collect?

While they did not reveal how many tickets were sold, Shabana announced that they managed Ksh937,000 on the day, a great return given the fixture date.

Shabana fans have continued supporting their team in a big way and show up at match venues, both at home and away, in a bid to boost players’ morale and the club’s coffers.

Shabana had gone into the match after three wins and a draw and were seeking a victory that would have propelled them to the top of the table but it is Rangers at the summit with 10 points with Peter Okidi’s side second on seven.

The Glamour Boys will seek to bounce back from the defeat when they face Mathare United next week at the conclusion of a seven-day suspension of the league owing to the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
