Shakira allowed Pique to cheat- source claims

A year ago, the well-known singer announced her split from former Barcelona player Pique amid rumours that he had been cheating.

The news of Gerard Pique cheating on his ex-wife Shakira has left the Barcelona legend stunned according to reports.

Soon after their high-profile split, the former Barcelona defender confirmed he was dating Clara Chia Marti which fueled more rumours of a probable relationship.

However, according to reports the 36-year-old has claimed that he was in an open relationship with Shakira before their breakup.

According to the most recent allegation of their breakup, Pique was surprised when Shakira made public the news of their separation.

According to José Antonio Avilés, a Spanish television journalist, as reported by the Sun, Shakira and Pique had been in an open relationship for three years before splitting.

 Avilés said according to El Nacional de Catalunya, "There is an agreement where 'you do what you want and I do what I want'. But in the face of the media, we are still a couple.

"The footballer's entourage was surprised by Shakira's statement. He has been annoyed to find out from the press".

These assertions were verified by Pilar Vidal, another journalist as reported by the Sun. stating. "Pique does not want speculation that the reason for the breakup was infidelity.

"He was surprised by the statement because the one who takes the initiative is her."

When her father was battling for his life in the hospital, Shakira offers a different account and recently shared her anguish after learning of Pique's alleged betrayal.

According to Shakira, she learned of her ex-alleged husband's infidelity not long after William was "gravely injured."

Shakira said as reported by the Sun, "Everything happened at once. My home was falling apart.

"I was finding out through the press that I had been betrayed while my dad was in the ICU."

According to reports, Shakira discovered Pique was lying when she discovered an empty jam jar in their refrigerator. She and her kids don't consume jam.

According to other sources, she allegedly hired a group of private investigators to snoop on the soccer star in an effort to corroborate her concerns.
