She Corporate head coach Hassan Issa has attached his side's bumpy ride this campaign to several issues, some of which hinging on the expectations of the faithful.

"After winning the league last season and also performing well in CECAFA Women's Champions League, the expectations from everyone about this team were too high," Issa stated.

"But, unfortunately, it just put the players under pressure, so we have battled with that challenge right from the start of the season until now."

As debutants at the regional competition, the Sharks reached the final in Tanzania, where they lost 1-0 to Simba Queens, but they hold pride in being the first Ugandan team to achieve the feat.

"Injuries also did not leave us the same because the likes of Grace Atim and Ronah Natenge are some of our top players but were in the sick bay for the largest part of the first round."

Ahead of the new season, the Nakawa-based were busy signing players whose adaptation has had complexities in the market. "Fitting them into the team took a lot of time, and it was always going to be difficult to get results."

The unprecedented injury to their star player and last season's MVP, Phiona Nabbumba, towards the start of the Second Round didn't do the Sharks any good.

"It is a tricky season for us because we suffered a blow ahead of the second round when our best player Phiona Nabbumba got injured."

"But there are still more games before the season ends, and hopefully, we shall improve," Issa added.
