The song experienced a massive resurgence in 2025 when it went viral after being used by Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal while he was on duty for Spain during the 2025 Copa del Rey tournament.

Barcelona players and social media users worldwide began recreating the choreography, breathing new life into Skales’ decade-old hit and propelling him back into the international spotlight.

Capitalizing on this viral moment, Skales met up with Yamal in Barcelona, further solidifying his connection to the football world.

The meeting was a significant milestone for Skales, who had flown to Seville to attend the Copa del Rey final, where he watched Barcelona defeat Madrid 3–2 at the Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla to claim the title.

Inspired by Yamal’s role in the song’s resurgence, Skales released a new track titled Dance Like Lamine Yamal, a tribute to the Barcelona teenage superstar.

Following the loss to Inter Milan, Skales received criticism from some Barcelona fans who blamed him for distracting Yamal.

He teamed up with Super Eagles star Victor Boniface in Germany, where he was gifted a Bayer Leverkusen jersey.
