Morroco international Sofyan Amrabat has expressed that he would like to continue at Manchester United beyond the duration of his loan deal, which is set to expire this summer.
Amrabat joined the Red Devils from Serie A side Fiorentina last summer on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
Amrabat wants to continue
The 27-year-old midfielder had a brilliant performance in Manchester United's FA Cup triumph at Wembley over crosstown rivals Manchester City.
Basking in the euphoria of lifting the title, Amrabat, in a conversation with Dutch publication Ziggo Sport, stated that he would like to continue at the club beyond this summer.
“Staying at Manchester United is certainly an option,” Amrabat said.
“We are going to talk. Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here?”
It was previously reported that the Red Devils would not trigger the buy option in his deal, however, the Moroccan finished the season strongly and could have compelled the club to change their stance.
Meanwhile, despite reports that he will be sacked regardless of the outcome of the FA Cup final, Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag continues to look to the future, for which he is the manager of the club.
