Stanbic Uganda Cup: Mouthwatering clashes await after Round of 16 draw
The Round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup promises blizz and delectable action following the confirmation of the ties in a draw conducted at the FUFA House, Mengo, on Monday.
The most succulent of the pairings will see URA FC play host to 10-time winners KCCA FC.
The clash will renew acquaintances between KCCA head coach Abdallah Mubiru and URA's David Obua, in a tie that will also reminisce the former's 3-2 Uganda Premier League victory earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, high-flying Kitara FC will be at home against nine-time winners SC Villa, in another that promises tasty action.
The two sides have met twice already in this campaign with Kitara holding the head-to-head edge.
The latter beat the Jogoo 2-1 in the first half of the UPL, courtesy of Denis Omedi and Living Kabon. Charles Lwanga netted Villa's consolation.
However, in the second round, Jonah Patrick Kakande scored a late leveller as Villa tied 1-1 with the Royals in Masindi. Brian Aheebwa had given the latter the lead.
In the other all-UPL bouts, league leaders BUL FC will be at home against 10-time winners Express FC, while Busoga United will host NEC FC.
Meanwhile, defending champions Vipers SC have been handed a relatively lighter St Mary's Stadium, Kitende contest against Regional League side Iganga Young.
Soltilo Bright Stars will host FUFA Big League leaders Police FC, Pajule Lions will be at home to Young Simba FC, while Doves FC will battle Pakwach Young Stars.
