Tanzanian president Suluhu Hassan has pledged a goals incentive of Tshs 5M, an equivalent of Ugx 7M per goal scored by each club on the continent.

"In this year's CAF Champions League, we are represented by our traditional hometown team Simba (Champion club) and Yanga (Confederations Cup)," read part of the tweet on Suluhu's official Twitter handle before adding.

"I am giving an incentive of Tshs 5M to these two teams for every goal they score; represent us well."

Both Simba and Yanga kicked off their respective continental club campaigns away on a losing note. Msimbazi lost 1-0 to Horoya in Guinea, while Yanga lost 2-0 to US Monastire in Tunisia.

The rival teams will be at home when continental duties return, with Simba hosting Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca while Yanga host TP Mazembe a day later.

Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho featured for Young Africans and was pivotal for the Wananichi last season as they won a domestic treble.
