Super Eagles crucial qualifiers under new coach Finidi George is a must win - Ahmed Musa

Nigeria's national football team captain, Ahmed Musa has emphasized on the need for newly-appointed head coach, Finidi George, to deliver immediate results.

Finidi officially assumed the head coach position last month after serving as assistant coach to Jose Peseiro for the past two years.

Former Ajax winger Finidi George previously led the team in an interim capacity for two friendly matches in March against Ghana and Mali.

The crucial World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin marks his official debut as head coach of the Super Eagles.

Incumbent Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa made his position clear on what Finidi George needs to do to revive faith in the Super Eagles after losing the AFCON final agonisingly.

“There is a lot of expectations for him now that we have two very difficult games to play for the World Cup qualifiers.

“The important thing is just to win these two games because if we win, a lot of confidence will come for him and the team. So we just have to support him and wish him best of luck,” Musa told ESPN.
