Just hours before the three-time champions are scheduled to leave for Cote d'Ivoire to compete in the 34th Africa Cup of Nations finals beginning this weekend, the Lagos State Government is hosting a special dinner for the Super Eagles on Tuesday night, with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu serving as the chief host.
Governors Douye Diri (Bayelsa State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State), and Godwin Obaseki (Edo State) have been invited to the glamorous event, which will be co-hosted by Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of Sports Development.

The event is being hosted by Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Other guests include prominent figures from the Lagos State Government, a few lawmakers, members of the NFF Executive Committee, former Nigeria captain Dr. Olusegun Odegbami, leading entertainers, well-known people, and influencers.
The 25 players and officials who have been chosen for Nigeria's quest for a fourth Africa Cup of Nations championship will arrive in Lagos on Tuesday night on a chartered plane as guests of the show.
This is not the first involvement of Governor Sanwo-Olu with football as he previously traveled to London to watch Bukayo Saka play for Arsenal.
The 34th Africa Cup of Nations squad from Nigeria will take off from Lagos on Wednesday morning for an 80-minute trip to Abidjan. At the AFCON they will play against the host nation, Cote d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau in Group A.
