Super Eagles: Osimhen, Lookman to miss Ghana and Russia clash as Okoye returns
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen and Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman will miss Nigeria’s games against Ghana and Russia after both were omitted from the squad that will take part in the two friendly games.
Osimhen and Lookman to miss Super Eagles games against Ghana and Russia
The Super Eagles will take on Ghana in one of their two games at the Unity Cup, scheduled for May 27-31. Following the two games, the Super will then take on Russia in an international friendly game on June 6.
However, both Osimhen and Lookman will miss the three games as they were not included in the squad for the Unity Cup and Russia clash.
As per sources, the two players were excused after a long season, which saw Osimhen win the Turkish Super Lig with Galatasaray and Lookman help Atalanta qualify for the Champions League.
However, while Osimhen and Lookman will not be available, Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye makes a return after missing the World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Okoye will have the opportunity to make his claim for the No.1 spot after losing it to Stanley Nwabali, who is also in the squad for the Unity Cup.

Although the squad is full of new and returning players, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle still called up regulars like William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Moses Simon.
Musa returns to Super Eagles squad
Meanwhile, captain Ahmed Musa makes a return alongside Cyriel Dessers, who just ended the Scottish Premiership season as the top goal scorer.
However, there is no place for Victor Boniface in the Unity Cup, although he is set to play against Russia.
In the Unity Cup, the Super Eagles will take on Ghana on May 28 before facing one of Trinidad and Tobago or Jamaica in the final or third place.
