Super Eagles stars keep another clean sheet to help Udinese claim vital victory over Lecce in relegation battle

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye played an important part in the victory, keeping a clean sheet in the game.

The Le Zebrette sealed a 2-0 win over Leece which leaves them in 13th position with five points away from the relegation zone.

Maduka Okoye and Isaac Success were in action for Udinese in their win over Leece and also keeping a clean sheet.

Both Super Eagles stars started the game for their team with Maduka manning the goalpost and Success playing in midfield.

Udinese scored the first goal in the 36th minute after Martin Payero beat his man and sliced in a cross towards Lorenzo Lucca who evaded his marker and planted a fine header into the bottom left corner.

The away side held on for most of the game and got the second goal late in the 85th minute. Lazar Samardzic was in the right place to get to the rebound inside the box and gleefully rifled the ball low into the middle of the net.

Tayo Salaam on X also hailed the performance of the Super Eagles players and their impact in their fight to escape relegation.

He said, “Big 3 points for Maduka Okoye, Isaac Success and Udinese, 2-0 away at Lecce in their fight against relegation.”

The win makes it Maduka Okoye’s third clean sheet in the league as he looks to end the season on a good note.
