England set up last-16 clash against Nigeria
Chelsea star Lauren James led the rout, scoring two brilliant goals and having one ruled out as England crushed a meek China to set up a knockout tie against Nigeria's Super Falcons.
Alessia Russo opened the scoring after just four minutes and Lauren Hemp doubled England's lead midway through the first half.
Lauren James made it 3-0 with an exquisite finish just before half-time and had a goal ruled out almost immediately, for offside.
Wang Shuang gave the Chinese a glimmer of hope when she scored from the penalty spot, but England’s three-goal cushion was soon restored, the unstoppable James volleying home to make it 4-1.
Chloe Kelly came off the bench to make it five for England after a bad mistake from Zhu Yu in the China goal.
Rachel Daly thumped home England’s sixth to complete a stunning performance and set up a meeting with Nigeria's Super Falcons.
