Super Falcons' Nnadozie receives nomination certificate for Goalkeeper of the Season award
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated by the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionels (UNFP) for the best goalkeeper in the French women's league.
The Nigerian goalkeeper who most recently extended her stay in France by penning a new contract with French Feminine side Paris FC, until June 2025, kept an amazing 11 clean sheets in 26 games for her team.
Nnadozie celebrates nomination with Paris FC
Following an impressive season in the 2022/23 D1 Arkema season, Nnadozie was nominated alongside Constance Picaud of PSG, Laetitia Philippe of Le Havre, Christine Endler of Olympic Lyon, and Maron Heli of US Fleury Merogis.
Upon receipt from Laurent Pionnier, a former French goalkeeper and a top member of the UNFP, Nnadozie shared the nomination certificate with her teammates and Pierre Ferraci, the president of her club.
Nnadozie will hope to take home the UNFP Trophy for the first time and ahead of Lyon goalie Christine Endler who beat her to it in the 2021/22 season
Nnadozie to turn attention to Women's World Cup after club season
Meanwhile, Nnadozie would hope to be one of the 26 players to represent Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, later in July and August 2023.
The Super Falcons are drawn in Group B alongside co-hosts Australia, Olympic champions Canada and the Republic of Ireland.
The tournament in Australia and New Zealand will be the Super Falcons' ninth appearance - an appearance record being shared with the United States, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Brazil, and Japan.
