Super Falcons of fire in 2025: Monday Gift and Rinsola Babajide lead Tenerife to 5-1 rout of Deportivo

The Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino in Spain is back after a break to end last year.

The return to action saw several Nigerian football stars take to the pitch.

On Saturday, January 11, 2025 Super Eagles of Nigeria stars Monday Gift and Rinsola Babajide were in action for Tenerife.

The two Nigerians played a pivotal role as Costa Tenerife recorded a 5-1 victory against Deportivo in a league fixture.

Both Monday and Babajide started the game at the Adeje football field.

Deportivo went in front as early as the 25th minute through Henar Muna Asla.

The away side held on to their lead taking a narrow lead to the halftime break.

In the second half, Gift got the equalizer for Tenerife in the 51st minute.

In the 64th minute, Monday scored her second of the game assisted by Castello to give Tenerife the lead.

Babajide scored the third for Tenerife in the 69th minute assisted by Claudia Roldan Blanco.

Aleksandra Zaremba Kupiec added a fourth in the 76th minute, while Babajide assisted Sakina Ouzraoui to score the fifth.

Babajide was substituted for Maria Jose Perez in the 82nd minute while Monday played the entire game.
