Super Falcons star Ashleigh Plumptre shows off kids book celebrating Nigerian and England identity
Super Falcons of Nigeria defender Ashleigh Plumptre is in a celebratory mood over a book for kids.
The 24-year-old Leicester City defender took to her official social media platforms to show off a new book called Clever Carmel.
Plumptre is one of the few Super Falcons players in the English Women's Super League who possesses dual nationality.
She was a former England women's youth international before she made her senior Nigeria debut for the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
Ashleigh Plumptre celebrates new book
Plumptre in a post on her official Instagram account shows off the new book explaining why it is of importance to mixed-heritage children.
Along with photos of the book was a message that said, "Thank you @howh_ for sending me a copy of your very own beautiful book, Clever Carmel.
"This is a story that resonates with so many young, mixed-heritage boys and girls.
"A story that teaches us to celebrate an identity within two cultures and encourages us all to acknowledge the power that our heritage can have on our passions, values and relationships!"
Plumptre is part of a Leicester City side that is struggling in the Super League this season.
She is expected to return to action when Leicester City welcomes Liverpool in their next league game scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2023.
