Team Nigeria in high spirit ahead of NCF Women’s Invitational Tournament opener
Ahead of the commencement of the second edition of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) Women’s Invitational Tournament, team Nigeria is ready to battle for gold.
The NCF Women’s Invitational Tournament will start on Monday at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Cricket Oval, Lagos.
Nigeria in high spirits ahead of Sierra Leone clash
The Nigeria women’s national cricket team's coach, Leke Oyede, has revealed that they are confident of beating Sierra Leone in their first game.
Pulse Sports reports that Nigeria faces West African rival Sierra Leone in the opening fixtures.
Oyede, in a press statement issued by the NCF media, said he feels the players are competent and have gained knowledge from their prior mistakes.
“Nigeria’s team is highly motivated and I am confident in the talent of the entire team. I also believe the past events offered us some lessons that we have adopted in our preparation for this edition.” He said.
The event is supported by various sponsors, including Access Bank, the Lagos State Government, Alaro City, EKO Electricity distribution company, Lagos Intercontinental Hotel Pets Foundation, Aries Suites, Pillar Oil, and Geregu Energy.
The NCF Women’s T20I Invitational tournament will run from March 27 to April 2, 2023, in Lagos.
