Tems to headline 1st ever FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show

Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, has been announced as one of the headliners for the inaugural Club World Cup final halftime show.

This comes as a historic moment is on the horizon as the global football community gears up for the expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup.

Joining Tems are global superstars J Balvin and Doja Cat, promising a vibrant fusion of Afrobeats, reggaeton, and pop at a massive sports event.

The Club World Cup final halftime show, produced in collaboration with Global Citizen and supported by figures like Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

Tems accolades are extensive, including two Grammy Awards, four BET Awards and four NAACP Image Awards.

She rose to prominence with her feature on Wizkid’s 2020 hit Essence"—which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 pushing the boundaries of Afrobeats.

Tems’ inclusion is particularly significant given her rise as a symbol of African excellence.

Tems brings a seasoned perspective to this halftime performance, as she is no stranger to the football world.

In February 2025, she made history by becoming the first African woman to join the ownership group of Major League Soccer’s San Diego FC, investing through her company, The Leading Vibe.
