The German goalkeeper had previously addressed the Catalan club's concerns in a statement released on social media, via Abola, where he lamented that "many things... totally unfounded" had been said about him.

In the statement, the goalkeeper assured that his surgery was performed with specialist medical consultation and with the club's approval, and maintained that he had always based his decisions on transparency and alignment with Barça's interests.

Ter Stegen emphasized that the club's recent signings and contract renewals took place before his surgery, thus refuting rumors that his unavailability had been instrumentalized to open up roster spots.

Taking a conciliatory stance, the German declared himself "fully prepared to collaborate" with the club to facilitate the submission of the medical report to La Liga, an essential step to formally define his physical condition and allow the registration of new signings, which has now happened.
