The millions marathoner Anderson Seroi has minted in under two months

Anderson Seroi's dominant exploits have seen him earn more than Ksh12 million with his latest victory being the just concluded Hong Kong Marathon.

Newly crowned Hong Kong Marathon champion Anderson Seroi will be smiling all the way to the bank after his dominant exploits in Sunday’s race.

Seroi enjoyed his festive season after winning the 2023 Singapore Marathon on December 3 and extended his winning streak to the Penang Bridge Malaysia Marathon on December 18.

He pocketed Ksh1,622,500 for bagging the Singapore Marathon before banking Ksh811,250 at the Penang Bridge Malaysia Marathon.

The second-place finishers pocketed Ksh 4,867,500 while the podium finishers walked away with Ksh 2,433,750.

After notching up his first victory of the year in Hong Kong, China, the 30-year-old will walk away with Ksh10,546,250. In under two months, the Kenyan has bagged more than Ksh12 million.

Meanwhile, at the Hong Kong Marathon, Seroi clocked 2:12:50 to win the men's race ahead of South Africa’s seasoned marathoner Stephen Mokoka, who secured the second spot with a time of 2:12:58. Mekuant Ayenew from Ethiopia rounded out the top three, finishing in 2:13:09.

In a post-race interview, he said: “First of all, I want to thank God for the win, but also Hong Kong, it’s a beautiful city. I feel really good, the course is tough but I enjoy running it.”

Meanwhile, the women's category saw Medina Armino of Ethiopia triumph in 2:28:47 with her compatriot Gadise Mulu finishing third in 2:29:46. Beatrice Cheptoo of Kenya finished second in 2:29:30.
