There are no excuses — Xavi after Barcelona's loss to Rayo

LeBron James missed 12 of the 17 shots he attempted including having a game-high five turnovers in the Los Angeles Lakers' 116-99 Game 5 loss Wednesday to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Blaugrana turned in a poor display at the Vallecas, with Rayo being the better team on the night and coming up victorious.

Barca boss Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media after the game stating that there were no excuses for how his team played.

“There are no excuses, we have to think about Saturday and get back to the good form we showed against Atletico,” he said.

“Today we didn’t play at the level the match required, today I’m angry and the players leave angry too. 

“We are very upset because today we had a very good opportunity to go out with a bigger lead.”

Xavi was graceful in defeat and admitted that Rayo Vallecano were the deserved winners on the night, as he said: “Rayo deserved the win and we have to congratulate them.”

Up next for Barcelona is the home visit of Real Betis as they look to eradicate all potential hiccups on the way to what now seems an inevitable league triumph.
