Former Crystal Palace owner Jordan Simon has launched a scathing verbal attack on Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah, questioning the Egyptian's mentality and commitment while dismissing his ability as overrated.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Salah has been in the news of late following a bizarre altercation with manager Jurgen Klopp during the Premier League clash against West Ham United.
Simon Attacks Mo Salah
Speaking to TalkSport per Tribal football, Simon expressed belief that rumours around Salah’s future would not exist if his German manager would stay at Anfield beyond this summer.
You question whether you would have had this (speculation over Salah's future) if Klopp was going to be there in perpetuity," Jordan said.
The 57-year-old went on to launch an extraordinary attack on the character and playing style of the Liverpool and Egypt superstar.
"I know this is controversial and people are going to tell me what a clown I am and I should ride around in a clown car, but I'm not a fan of Mo Salah,” he said.
"I don't think he's as good as people make him out to be. I think he dives, I think he can be a fair-weather player.”
Salah’s Commitment Questioned
Jordan then doubled down on his critique of the 31-year-old’s mentality and desire.
"I know this will sound ridiculous to people and will make me incredibly unpopular by saying it, obviously he's scored lots of goals, but when the going gets tough some people stand up and fight and some people don't,” he added.
"I get this feeling that Salah can be one of those. It's an opinion.”
Salah remains one of the top scorer’s this season in the Premier League with 17 goals scored and nine assists.
However, he has come under heavy criticisms in recent matches for his performance before the fight with Klopp last weekend.
However, Simon’s extraordinary verbal salvo at Salah's character and ability is still likely to be viewed as excessive and unfair by most impartial observers.
