This Golden Silver is for all of us - Tobi Amusan celebrates medal at 2025 World Athletics Championships
Nigerian hurdler Oluwatobiloba Amusan continues her celebration of a silver medal at the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
Amusan marked by a time of 12.29 seconds for Nigeria’s first medal at the championships.
Amusan celebrates Golden Silver
In 2021, she finished fourth in the 100m hurdles final, missing out on a medal by a mere fraction of a second (12.60s).
Now on the podium, Amusan then won Gold in 2022 Nigeria's first at the World Athletics Championships.
Following her Silver medal, Amusan took to social media to celebrate her team and coaches.
She posted a series of pictures on her social media platforms after the race and receiving the medals.
Along with the photos was a message that said, "To my coaches, who have pushed me beyond my limits and believed in me even when I doubted myself; your guidance and expertise have been invaluable.
"It’s not just a medal; it’s the culmination of years of toiling and a testament to the incredible teamwork and dedication of my amazing team. This Golden Silver symbolizes our collective efforts.
"To my support staff, including trainers, therapists, and nutritionists, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes: your contributions were invaluable.
"To my family, mentors, and friends, thank you for your constant love, encouragement, and sacrifices. You all have been my rock through thick and thin.

Amusan is expected to lead Team Nigeria as the Championships rounds up with final events.
