Thomas Partey: Mikel Arteta says Arsenal midfielder will remain with the club amid transfer speculation
The midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Emirates to several clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia in the past few weeks.
Al Ahli of the Saudi Pro League has been interested in a number of players, including Partey who was rumoured to have agreed personal terms with a Saudi Arabian club.
The Ghanaian player took a while to join the Arsenal team for their three-game trip to the United States.
Despite rumours linking him with a move away from Arsenal, Arteta has said Partey is part of his plan for next season and will remain at the club.
Arteta statement on Partey staying at Arsenal
It appeared like Partey would be permitted to leave after Declan Rice was signed the previous week.
However, Arteta gave a clear answer when asked if he anticipated the player staying, he said as reported by BBC, "Yes, Thomas is a super important player for us.
"Every time I had a conversation with him, he says he wants to stay with us. There is nothing there at all."
Partey moved to Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 after the Gunners triggered his £45.3 million release clause.
He has made 99 appearances, scored five goals and provided four assists for the Gunners in all competitions.
Also, he played for the team in 33 Premier League games last season, scoring three goals as they finished second to Manchester City.
