Abia Warriors’ midfielder Anthony Ijoma has emerged as one of the standout performers in Nigeria’s Super Eagles Team B, currently preparing for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Tanzania and Kenya.

Since joining the camp this month, Ijoma has impressed coaches and fans alike with his sharp form and eye for goal.

In three warm-up matches, he has scored three goals and provided one assist, underlining his value to the team.

The dynamic midfielder scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Remo Stars, opened the scoring in a 2-0 triumph against Ojodu City FC, and added another goal in a commanding 3-1 win over Ikorodu City FC.

What Ijoma said

Speaking on his form and CHAN ambitions, Ijoma said, "I'm just grateful everything is falling into place. I hope to maintain this good form at CHAN and hopefully make a strong impact for my country."

With his consistent performances, Ijoma has become a key figure in the squad’s preparations and a player to watch as the Super Eagles B team sets its sights on CHAN 2024.

Nigeria will play evaluation matches on July 28th and 31st to fine-tune tactics before the main tournament.

Drawn into Group D with Senegal, Sudan, and Congo, the Super Eagles will begin their campaign against Senegal and Sudan at the Amman Stadium on Zanzibar Island.

Their final group match will be against Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
