Former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has shared his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo's professionalism and dedication to self-improvement.
The two played together at Real Madrid from 2014 to 2018, winning three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles.
Kroos shares Cristiano Ronaldo inspiration
In a conversation with his academy kids, Kroos highlighted Ronaldo's remarkable work ethic.
"You should always strive to be the best version of yourself. One of my favorite examples is Cristiano Ronaldo."
"What people see is that he scores a ton of goals and drives fast cars. I was his next-door neighbor, and I can say that he has a lot of fast cars. I also have one (laughs)."
Kroos emphasized that Ronaldo's success is a result of his hard work and ambition.
"Every time I went to training, his car was already there. Every time I left training, his car was still there. What he achieved was because of incredible ambition and hard work. You only see the finished product. You don't see the work he puts in."
Kroos' praise for Ronaldo serves as a testament to the Portuguese star's dedication to his craft, even at 39 years old.
While Kroos has now retired from professional football, Ronaldo continues to be one of the best players in the world.
