With the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) on the horizon, Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has named a 30-man provisional squad brimming with local talent.

The continental football showpiece is poised for August with Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania hosting in an East African joint effort.

Pulse Sports takes a look at the five Kenyan clubs that have contributed the most players to the Harambee Stars.

5. Ulinzi Stars – 3 Players

The disciplined military side will be proud to see three of their standout performers in the squad.

4. Tusker FC – 3 Players

The 13-time Kenyan champions match Ulinzi in numbers, contributing experience and youthful energy.

Among their most notable call ups are forward Ryan Ogam who netted a whopping 15 goals in the just conclude FKFPL campaign.

Ogam is joined by Michael Kibwage and Brian Opondo.

4. Kenya Police – 4 Players

Kenya Police’s steady rise in the FKF Premier League is reflected in the call-ups, particularly in defence and midfield.

The newly crowned champions have contributed four players, most notable among them being Mohammed Bajaber who rose to stardom during the March international break in 2026 World Cup qualifier clashes againts Gambia and Gabon.

Others include Abud Omar, Daniel Sakari and Brian Musa who make up the rest of Kenya Police core in the squad.

2. Bandari FC – 5 Players

The coastal club has one of the strongest representations, especially in the defensive and goalkeeping departments.

Faruk Shikhalo leads the pack, expected to be serious contender for the goalkeeping postion.

Others include, Siraj Mohammed, Pamba Swaleh, David Sakwa and Beja Nyamawi

The record FKF Premier League champions jointly lead the list with a solid contribution of both defenders and creative midfielders.

Among their players called up include the defensive pair of Alphonse Omija and Sylvester Owino.

Midfielders Alpha Onyango and Austin Odhiambo bring much needed balnce and quality in the middle of the park as Ben Stanley rounds off the call ups for K'Ogalo.

Gor Mahia and Bandari top the list with five players each, while Ulinzi Stars just sneak into the top five.

The selection highlights the depth in local Kenyan football as the nation readies itself to co-host CHAN 2024.
