Tottenham Hotspur endured a disappointing Premier League season last year, finishing in 17th place.

However, their Europa League triumph secured Thomas Frank's side a spot in the Champions League.

Despite this, the board faced criticism in recent years, primarily concerning an alleged lack of investment in the Spurs squad. Levy largely dismissed these criticisms.

"We have played European football in eighteen of the last twenty seasons and have become one of the most recognised clubs in the world." Last season also saw them lift the Europa League trophy.

"I think this is one of those situations where you only get the credit once you're gone," he previously told The Standard. That sentiment will now be put to the test.

"Look at this fantastic stadium and the fact that other clubs are now trying to copy what we do. That's a sign that we did something brave and that we did it well," Levy remarked.

Spurs are hoping for improved performances this season, with new signing Xavi Simons expected to play a pivotal role. He joined from RB Leipzig for 65 million euros and links up with compatriot Micky van de Ven in North London.

After three matchdays, the club sits fourth in the league, having secured victories against Manchester City and Burnley, but suffering a defeat to Bournemouth.
